Happy Chrissy from down unda!!!

Hey everyone!!!! So, no, that's not how they say it here, but it definitely is the quote of the week.
This week was kinda eh. Christmas week in Canberra is pretty dead. On top of that, a heat wave came in and we hit 100. Almost every night our bedroom was 90+ degrees at 10:30pm. Woohoo, no air con!!! My favorite! But that's okay.
Hey so i just want to share a couple miracles and fun experiences this week.
1) Matt has been off the radar for the last 3-4 weeks. Hes literally the most busy 18 year old i've ever met. Its crazy! So since our first time meeting with him, we havent really seen him. Been rough. But last night he texts us out of the blue and says "hey guys, i want to get baptized." So we told him that he needs to meet with us. Well, we now have an appointment with him!!!! I'm so excited!!!!! I'm really looking forward to teaching him again. Hes a great kid!

2) So i would save this one for last because of chronology but i want to save a really cool miracle for last. So today we went and hiked the highest peak in Australia!!!!! Mt. Kosciusko. It actually was a wayyyyy easy hike. That's okay though. It was sooo fun!!! When we got there the temps were cool but really nice for a long sleeve and shorts. Then as we kept hiking, the winds picked up. Towards the top gusts of about 50mph were hitting us. Hahahha. It was so cool!!! We chilled on the top for a bit, i got my yoga pose in, and we headed back down. About 1/3 of the way down, that wind was added too by rain, then thunder hahahhahaha. Well, needless to say, it was an amazing time had by most (my comp is now seeming like he's gonna get really really sick... he'll be okay) But yeah. That was a party. It was so nice to be out in the actual wilderness again and hiking. 10/10 my happy place. Aspirations for 7/7 each continent's highest peak is building. Everest and Antarctica is a stretch though.... not sure i'll ever even think about doing those.

3) So Elder Jarvis and I have been planning a devotional for a little over a month now. That happened last night. At first, we were really really excited about it and were keen to make it happen, but as time went on, we realized a problem... there might only be 5 people that show up to it. And that was a realistic thought. That very much was a possibility. Well, we decided we were in too deep and couldn't pull out, so we went for it. One thing that kept running through my mind yesterday was "attempt to be creative, even if the results are modest." I felt that we had attempted and we were about to see modest results, but that's okay. Well, we show up and at around 6:30pm, a couple people trickle into the chapel. Then at about 5 till, many more people showed up! We had an attendance of about 40 people!!!!! We thought there would actually only be a max of 20 people. But that was a miracle!!! Then the devotional started. The speakers were absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!! In each of their topics that we assigned them, they took a different twist than normal and they all flowed together so well!! The musical items were great!!! And most importantly, i felt the Spirit sooo strongly. I accredit that devotional's success 100% to the Lord because of His infinite mercy and kindness. He was willing to make our little devotional something memorable, at least for me.

Well everyone. I hope you have a great new years!!!! Love yall heaps!!!

"Im not palagi, youre palagi"

Holy driving! Man, we went up to Sydney twice this week and I'm absolutely smashed. Driving that much really makes you tired. (thanks Mom for being a taxi driver while we were growing up!!) Well despite the long drives, the trips were a lot of fun! The first one was MLC. We had a really good meeting. President gave a training on sacrifice and helping people understand what sacrifice actually is. Sometimes people will sacrifice things like their bed until they get a baptism or other things like that, and President basically told us to chill. hahaha. It was a really good training though and he taught us a little more about the meaning of sacrifice.
Sister Runia gave a great training about faith in Christ, not faith in outcomes. That was some hardcore wisdom right there. Its sometimes hard to find the difference. A lot of people will say (including myself all the time) "I have faith that _____ will happen" when really your faith should be in the Lord and His ability to make that happen so long as it is His will. It was a really great training.
After MLC we had trade offs with the AP's. That was a ton of fun!!! We were able to work hard and have a good time. It was so cool! We made a goal to teach several lessons that night, and then we headed onto the street. Literally the first guy we talked to was like "yeah I have time right now, what do you have?" So we taught him right then! SO cool! I love street contacting. ahhaha
Coming back from Sydney, we helped Bishop move. That was a crack up!!! So he has like 4 sons, and they all speak Samoan. One of them, during the middle of the service was like "Hey palagi!" (white boy) To which I responded, "youre palagi" He said "I'm not palagi, youre palagi!!" Thus i was stuck in a battle with a 7 year old samoan kid. hahahaha. It was pretty funny. Such a fun family!
Well, Mike got baptized this week!!!!! I taught him in Sydney, so we headed up on Saturday for that! It was really cool to see him again and everyone else. Crazy though! We got to the chapel at 4:30pm for the 5pm baptism. The font (which takes 2-3 hours to fill up) hadn't even started yet. So everyone grabbed buckets and filled them up in sinks to speed up the filling process. The baptism that followed also made it a more memorable one. It was really great!
Well everyone, I hope you're having a great Christmas and that you're able to remember its true meaning. Christ came for each one of us so that we could come to Him and be saved. I love Him and I'm trying to learn more about Him. This Christmas, I invite you to give yourself the best gift ever, and do the same; learn of Christ. Love you all heaps!! Merry Christmas!!!!

Hey party people! Its Christmas!

Hola and hi all of my friends and family.
Well, this week was pretty awesome. We kicked it off with a MEAN trade-off in narooma! So let me explain narooma real quick. It's basically a super super tiny, extremely pretty beach town. The elders flat down there is like a 5 minute walk to the beach that literally no one is ever on (so missionaries are allowed on it year round). So it's just a nice place to be. So we did trade offs down there and it was a lot of fun! We taught soooo many lessons. We taught (both companionship total) about 6 lessons on Tuesday and talked to heaps of people! Also had a service project in there too. So it was a pretty full on day. It was a lot of fun though! Elder Greenig and Petersen made it a lot of fun.
Friday was mean as. We did a trial run for a mission challenge. Us against my first zone (Harbour north). Of course we SMASHED them!!! They had no chance. But it was a lot of fun. We worked really really hard and found a ton of success from it! We were able to knock into a guy who studies religion and is willing to hear more about us. He invited us in right there and we taught the first lesson. We weren't able to set a return appointment cause he doesn't know when he's free, so we'll just stop by another time. Also we taught a lesson to Kai. He's a really nice Tongan guy. He's super huge but literally the most gentle guy ever. So cool! He really loves christ and loves the church. Just needs to put that into action. We had a really good lesson and the spirit was felt. So that's good.
Other than that, just a typical week. It was a ton of fun. We worked hard and found a lot of success which is really good to see.
I love the work people! I hope you are all having an amazing Christmas season!! Love ya heaps!

The fruit of the Spirit is joy

So for my subject today, I'm gonna address something that I've thought has been pretty funny throughout my mission. Lots of people say to me, "you're having so much fun! Are you even working?" "are you being obedient? You're having too much fun!" or simply "you're having too much fun!" I've always thought this has been pretty funny. Because I definitely am having a ton of fun out here. I love my mission.
One thing that I've really come to learn on my mission (among many many other things) is that the gospel is joyous! When you live the gospel, you tend to have a good time. You're surrounded by fantastic influences, you have so many opportunities opened up to you, and most of all, you have Him who is called "Comforter" with you at all times. How could you not have a great time in those circumstances?
Now this isn't to say that the mission isn't tough. I'm getting whooped every day here. By Sunday I feel as if my whole body is screaming for me to stay in bed for just 1 (or 5) more hours. But hey, this is like a Ragnar, it's sometimes tough in the moment, but when you're looking back on it, you only remember the fun times. (Plus no one wants a depressing email).
So my mission has been fantastic. I've had some "mean as" times out here. So the gospel truly is happy. It's full of fun. Satan doesn't want us to think/know that, but it's true, following Jesus Christ is the most happy path in this life and in the life to come. I truly do know that because I'm experiencing it right now. Hard times come, but like it says in Alma 36:3, if we put our trust in the Lord, we will be supported in all our trial and afflictions.
Now, on to the week.
WOW! #flewby! This week was ridiculously fast! I don't even really know what happened. However, I'll report a few things.
1) Matt is on baptismal date for the 5th of January!!! He is so solid and really wants to learn. He told us after the lesson that he hoped practice got canceled so he could go home and read the pamphlet we gave him. Who says that?? Hahaha. He has a deep deep desire to know more of the gospel. He really cares a lot about it. Plus, hes such a cool guy! He told us on Sunday "I was looking to find out where you guys lived" a few minutes later after some discussion "hmm that sounded pretty creepy when I said that huh?" hahahahhahahahahahahhaaahhaha!!!! But he's the man.
2) YVETTE!! (remember her from the city?) GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! oh my gosh it's been a long time coming! There were quite a few missionaries there. Elder Ngatuvai (who I replaced in the city) was there, Elder tobler, Elder Fang, Elder Cowdrey, and Elder Tan were all there to support her (along with many other missionaries currently serving in that ward. The Spirit was so strong during the baptism, especially during the actual ordinance. It was one of the happiest things I've seen on my mission. We really really put in a lot of time planning for her, and she was finally able to make the decision! Everyone was so happy! That was a great end to the week.
Well this next week is projected to be a fast one again. I'm just kicking it off with a nice round of golf. I did terrible, but that's okay, I'm golfing hahaha. This week we have a flat inspection, foot appointment for elder jarvis, a car service, then Christmas conference with the mission. It's loaded! Oh and then transfer calls on Saturday night.
Well, hope yall are having a great week! Love you heaps!

Miracles and pumpkin pie

Wow! What a great week!!!!! So this week was awesome. I'm gonna keep it brief today.
This week was awesome!! First off, it was Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving we were able to go over to an American family's party. We went over to one of their friends house and there was sooo many people there! And they were all so nice. We had really good conversations with them and got to know a lot of people in the community. Now if we knock on their doors they'll be nice to us because they know us! Yay! Progress!
Okay on a really really up-note, we had some super cool miracles this last weekend. I'll start with the smaller one and then we'll go from there.
So. We've been chasing this guy for a bit now. His name is Kai. He's one of the member's cousin and is super super nice. He's been really busy and hasn't been home for the last few months, so we haven't been able to catch him. However, this last Saturday we stopped by and he was home! He let us in and we chatted for a bit just getting to know each other. He said he'd taken all the lessons before and had been in date, but something happened so he wasn't baptized. However he tells his friends he's a member when they ask. So I'm excited to see him progress. He's a really nice, cool guy.
Another huge miracle was Matt. Matt is the boyfriend of one of our members. She invited him to church a while ago and he's been going with her in the mornings for about 2 months. He says he loves church, especially fast and testimony meetings. So, his girlfriend just moved out of the ward recently, and he had no one to go to church with. He asked us to come with him and of course we said yes. (btw elder jarvis had taught him before but Matt's been super busy recently). So we went and I got to meet him. He is the nicest kid ever! He's 18 and plays baseball for some locals teams!! And he's a giants fan!!!!! Woah!!! I'm gonna get along with this guy really well! Hahahhaha. So we were talking and he asked a few times how he could get baptized. And we explained. We'll. Meet him on Wednesday, so we're really excited for that. Oh and BTW, his girlfriend texted us a few days ago and told us that Matt told her he wants to be baptized and has since the very beginning!!! Woohoo!!!
So those were some awesome miracles from the week.
Hope yall are having a great time wherever you may be. And hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Oh ps, I had pumpkin pie for the first time. It was way good.

Okay. Love yall heaps!!

Just bought some golf clubs today. Super super super cheap so it's all good. We'll leave them at the flat.
Practicing in the Samoan choir. #noteasy.hahahaha so fun though.

what a week!!

Hey what's up everyone??? Well I'm gonna try to make this fast cause it's 10pm here and I haven't emailed President yet. Yay!

So today was crazy! We woke up at 4am and left at 5 for Sydney. Got there at 8:20 for our 9am temple session. Wow, that was a few times thrown in there. Haha anyways, it was a good drive. The temple was amazing as always. I love the temple. The spirit can be felt so strong there! I love it.

On the way home we hit up little Caesars!! Woohoo!!! I haven't had that in a year and a half (well just under) lol. It was so good! And guess what? It's still $5 here!! That was the best because that's actually cheaper than America's!! No tax, and the dollar is worth less here!! Woohoo!!!!

Umm yeah. This week was good. Maybe one point from this week is, it's no good planning something if you're not gonna execute. I have found that myself and many others plan for things, and then never do anything after the plan. And it's frustrating when nothing happens. This goes for a lot of things, events, parties, trips, self-improvement, etc.. So if you're gonna plan something, stick to that. If plans change, that's fine, but don't leave projects unfinished. That's something that I'm learning. Cause I love planning, but sometimes my execution isn't quite up to par. Although, I'm trying really really hard, so that's a positive!

I'm loving life out here. It's a great place to be, the work is good and I just got a text from someone we're trying to set appointments with saying "I want to come [to church] still" woohoo!!!! I'm excited to meet him. He seems so cool!
Short email, but I love yall heaps!!
Love elder maxfield.

Trying new approaches

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein
This week we tried to take Mr. Einstein's advice and try something new to get different results. Over the last few months, knocking just hasn't worked. There hasn't been really anything that's come of it. So we wanted to take a new approach. In trying to find this new approach we listened to the advice of President Hinckley; "[Missionaries] succeed best when members become the source from which New investigators are found." Well that sounds pretty dang good. I like succeeding! Who doesn't?

Well, we went to the members this week. Something I saw another missionary do was go into the homes of each member in the ward and share a 10 minute restoration lesson. Then simply the invitation at the end was to share a restoration pamphlet with a friend. We decided this could go well in this ward. Hopefully they can jump on this and get what we're actually trying to do. Cause if missionary work from the members increases here, baptisms will definitely follow! I'm confident that is the same for at home too. So if you're at home reading this, get your thinking cap on and try to think of a friend who you can prepare to meet the missionaries. It doesn't have to be a referral you're giving right now (although that would be great) but even if you can start to talk to someone about the gospel, that's a huge win for the work! The church I'll only grow if we ALL open our mouths.

In other news this week, I'VE SEEN SOOOOO MANY KANGAROOS MATE!!!! IT'S BEEN MEAN!!! Like seriously, they're everywhere! So if we drive in the evening past certain fields, id be able to probably count 75-100 of them. Sooooo cool!!!! But yeah, that's pretty dang fun!

Also the assistants came down and we did trade offs. We did two half day trade offs with them so we started on Tuesday at 3pm and ended Wednesday at 1pm. It was fun though. Wednesday morning we went on a hike for exercise time. It was wayyy cool!! And then we smashed the work the rest of the day. But I was sooo tired haha. Oh well.

Well, it's been a good week filled with lots of cool people and nice members. We also went street contacting for a bit. That was fun to do that again!

OH! ONE FINAL NOTE!!! I'M GOING GOLFING THIS MORNING!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I'M SO EXCITED!! I'M GONNA DO SO BAD!! Hahaha!
Well, in the words of Porky Pig "that's all folks!"

Love yall heaps!

HELLO PARTY PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Hi people! Happy Halloween from your not-so-Aussie friend!
Well Canberra is awesome and my companion is pretty dang cool too! I love it here. The ward is super cool and we have a lot of super nice members who are willing to help us out! I'm stoked!
As for this week, not a ton of work got done because we've been crazy busy running errands. It's a busy life down here. Thankfully we'll have plenty of time this week to smash the finding. We're also hoping to get into a lot of members home and teach them too! Just to get to know them better. #nofoodrequired

Some quick events from this week. Sister Roberts missed her train coming down here, so we hung out with Sister Min all day in a place called Goulburn... yeah.. the biggest attraction in Goublurn is a giant sheep sculpture at a gas station... so that was exciting. hahahahaahaha. Also sister min fell off of a playground spinny thing. That was soooo funny, but I cant send the video cause its too big. My mom has it, ask her if you want. Umm We also had all day service moving some elders into a house... its such a nice flat, I'm super jealous. Oh well, my flat is good too. Oh! And I'm finally running again!!!!! It feels soooo good to be getting into shape again!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!

Well, since not much happened, I'll just go to my studies this week. I've been studying a lot about God's plan for us. I won't go into the details, but it's amazing how intricate, yet simple His plan is. He truly does have a plan, and He truly does have a place for each of us prepared at home with Him if we follow His teachings. God's plan is fair, it is just. It allows everyone to have a chance. Although some may say, "eh, I'll 'live' now and follow God later" they really don't know what they're missing out on. God is not there to control us, to make us have boring lives. I'm in Australia for crying out loud! I'm having the time of my life! Yet I'm still following His plan for me. God wants us to be happy, and as we follow His plan, we can receive happiness and blessing in both this life and in the life to come!

I love you all heaps! Keep being awesome!
Love Elder Maxfield.

4 sticks and a big tub of glue

Wow! As you can tell by the title, this has been a hectic week! I'll start with Tuesday cause that's the beginning of the week. Lol
Well, we decided that we wanted to SMASH! week 6, so we tried to get in a lot of hours. We left the flat on Tuesday at 8am to do some finding and realized that it wasn't too crazy effective. Oh well. We met some nice people. That night we met with Julia!! Nooo! She's gone tomorrow!! I'm sooooo sad! But hey, it'll be okay cause she'll get baptized up there!! (she's meeting her missionaries up there today). It was a good lesson and she bore her testimony to God at the end in her prayer. I love seeing the change this gospel makes in people!!! That was one of the happiest things that's ever happened to me on my mission, seeing people grasp the gospel! I love it!!!
Wednesday: we're continuing to meet with Mike and he's so interesting. He's a really strange guy, but he's cool. He's pretty dang solid and asked us this last week if he could get baptized tomorrow. Hahaha not yet, but you can soon!
Thursday: we met with a dude named randlaf! He's soooo keen!!! He told us multiple times during our chapel tour that he wanted to join our organization. Haha. Yes!! You can!!! So that's way cool!!! I'm so excited for the upcoming transfer. I hope all of these people find the truthfulness of the gospel!! Oh! Also on Thursday I had a Chinese burger and it was soooo dang good!!!
Friday: we met with Yvette again! She's been thinking about baptism, so hopefully this next transfer she chooses to be baptized!!! I would love it if she could!!! She's awesome, just needs to pull the trigger. It'll bless her life sooo much!!
Saturday: transfer calls. Well, I've been here for three transfers now, so I guess it's fitting I should leave. I'm headed down to Canberra in an area called Woden.ive heard there's HEAPS of Kangaroos, so I'm excited about that. Hahahhaha a woohoo!!! Also my new comp sounds awesome! Everyone says he's the man!!! I'm sad to leave, but I'm keen to go to Canberra. Hopefully I can find some people to help there!!
Sunday: we had a musical fireside tonight held by our mission for recent converts and members, and it was awesome!!! It was about temple and family history work, and it was absolutely amazing. Some people dressed up in all white and pretended that they were in spirit prison. They got up and spoke and told a short life story. They then asked if anyone had their name to take to the temple (we all got a slip of paper with a name on it at the beginning). If they did, then there was celebration and happiness when they finally got to leave prison, but if no one did, they kinda just walked off and were sad. The whole thing was amazing and it really brought the life to family history work! I loved it. One of our recent converts who didn't want to go to the temple said that he might start going now because he felt touched! Woohoo!!!! #theSpiritisawesome!
Well that's its for the week! I love you all heaps! I guess the title is pretty self explanatory, so I won't go into that. Have a great week yall!!

What a week

Hey all! Hope you've had a great week!
This week was a good one. We had interviews on Tuesday with President and those are always pretty dang fun. Despite interviews, I think the best part of the week was Wednesday.

On Wednesday, we had trade offs and I went with Elder Kendrick. He's been in the ward for just as long as I have, so we've gotten to know each other well over these last 3 transfers. Well, we smashed the work on Wednesday! I don't think I've ever talked to that many strangers in one day in my life! We just decided at the beginning of the day that we would just go out and talk to literally everyone. So basically, there weren't too many moments during the day that we weren't talking to someone else. It was crazy! So much fun though because the time absolutely flew by! I'm trying to keep that energy and motivation up for a while.

On Friday we had a District training where we talked about helping the people we are teaching to feel the Spirit more often. One way to do that is to help them feel the Spirit better during lessons. So we decided as a companionship to try harder to have a really really spiritually inviting atmosphere during the lesson. We were doing that already, but we were also caught up a lot in making sure the information was shared. (sometimes it's hard to find the balance). We'll, the happy result was that our lessons went really really well. We were able to feel the Spirit strongly during the lessons and I hope the people we taught did too! So that was a really cool learning experience for me this week.

I love it out here and I know that as we testify of the truth, the Holy Ghost will witness to the hearts of these people that our words are true!

I love yall heaps! Hope you have an amazing week!

Elder Maxfield.

I promise I'm working!

I often think to myself, "Man, a mission isn't supposed to be this fun." But then I think, "well that would be absolutely ridiculous!! Missionaries can have fun too!" Well first off I want you all to know, yes I'm actually working very hard. I could bore you to death about street contacting, but I like to focus on the more exciting parts of my weeks. Hahaha. (which sometimes have to do with cake, cookies, or some poor Mexican food made by yours truly).

I bring that point up because this week was yet another fun one in the mission field. Let me tell you, I LOVE THE PEOPLE HERE SO MUCH!!!! Seriously, they're amazing! To make a long story short, today is Catherine's birthday (one of the people we're teaching. She's so cool!) Well, of course we had to celebrate. So last night her, Julia (another person we are teaching), Amber (member), Jessica (someone else is teaching her), Hinase (member), Elder Fang (companion), and I had a party; complete with tacos and a cake that had accidentally been completely eaten by members earlier that day..... :( So no cake.. So sad. And my tacos were mediocre at best. Oh well. I WAS THE ONLY ONE AT THE TABLE WHO COULD EAT SPICY FOOD!!! (I was so surprised!) We had a really good time and more importantly, Catherine had a good time. She is making really solid friends here in the ward and I hope they'll encourage her to keep pushing forward and find an answer! They're all so awesome.

Well, conference was awesome this weekend. I love listening to our leaders. They're truly men and women of God and know the Lord's will for His church. I can't pin a favorite, but Elder Hollands talk was great, so was Elder Brough's talk, and so was Elder Bangerter. I also really liked Elder Gong's talk and Elder Ballard's talk. So basically all of them. Hahahahahaha. It was such a good conference. I hope you all can take the advice given in conference and apply it to your life. I know that as we do so, the promises given by these faithful leaders will transpire. The church is true everyone! Shout it from the rooftops.

Love yall heaps!!

1) Jessica (someone else's investigator soon to be recent convert) Catherine, Hinase (Japanese member) and Amber. We took a few serious pictures and each time Elder Fang smiled in them. So we decided to take a picture where we all laughed but he wasn't smiling.
2) yeah.. Trying to be serious doesn't work
3) back left to right (Jessica, Catherine, Hinase, Julia, Amber)
4-5) more pictures hahah. The Polaroids came out better than the phone pictures
6) Elder Fang got a peppa pig bag, then got rid of it real fast. Hahahaha #thankgoodness!
7) Our "Gucci" ties came in! So skuxx!

The tie I'm wearing in pretty much all of the pics, a member named Tou (pronounced like Two) made it for me! He's the man!!!

Shower of Blessings

I think the best way to describe this week is that it was "a shower of blessings." It's been raining all week and I've heard it will continue to rain almost daily for the rest of the month of October. So it's been interesting.. Not necessarily the best weather to do street contacting in. Oh well. We'll see what happens.

So last week at the opera house was sooooooo cool! The Piano Guys were absolutely amazing. They were so funny and their musical talent is ridiculous. Especially the cellist. He played the cello so well! It was mostly the cellist and the main pianist the whole time and they were just making fun of each others instruments the whole time hahahha sooo funny! Really cool experience and a great show!

As far as others things happening, I can't remember much of what went down this week. Sorry. But what I do know is that we smashed the finding on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday we did finding with Archie. Friday we met up with Julia and had a super cool. Lesson with her. She's so awesome! She has felt God's love in her life soooo much these last two weeks, so that's super super exciting! However, she's leaving for Brisbane on the 25th.. And not coming back. Anyways, she might stay here for a bit if she finds a good pastry job, but if not sooo sad! We will miss her a lot. She's sooooo cool! We went finding with her too. Hahaha it was so fun! And she got us super spicy dry hot pot. It was hecka delicious!!

We had trade-offs with elder Cowdrey and with the APs. That was pretty fun. Made for a busy week, but it made it fun.
A little all over the place today, sorry bout that, but just know the week was good and we had a good time teaching everyone.

Some cool miracles happened
1) Piano Guys concert!!
2) we were able to get Archie a temple recommend! (he's not going to the temple, but it's a step forward)
3) Julia is seeing sooo many miracles in her life!
4) Julia might actually find a pastry job here and stay! Pray for her soooo hard!!!!
5) umm yeah that's about it, but it was cool!

OHHHHH I get it now!!!

Ohhhhhhh wait really???? That was THE Opera House? Haha just kidding I already knew that.
And hey guess what? President gave us permission to go see the Piano Guys perform there TONIGHT!!! Heyyyy I'm so excited! I've wanted to go inside for the last year and now I finally can! Woohoo!

This week was hectic as. It started off with MLC on Tuesday. We talked a lot about using the phones to actually put in our weekly information correctly. And President also wanted our opinions on a few "rules" that we've had. So that was a good discussion talking about what people really thought to be affective. There were many other great things said.

One other thing that stood out to me was when President was describing a HUGE meeting he was holding with an apostle. Can't remember what it was for, but he was hecka nervous. Well, this apostle before the meeting knelt and prayed with him and then told him to not be nervous because the meeting was now in the Lord's hands. I realized that "where 2 or 3 are gathered in [Christ's] name, there will [He] be also." As we figuratively turn the time over to the Lord during each meeting, and really let Him teach us what to say, we cannot go wrong. I've tried that this week and hope to do better at really trusting that He will guide my words.

As for the rest of the week, a lot of lessons. We have a few really awesome people we're teaching. Hansen is now on baptismal date for the 10th of November. He has such great faith! What a great guy!! Catherine is so awesome. She has a lot of questions but is overall looking for love and belonging in her life. I hope she knows that she can find that here. She's so nice. Julia is awesome. She has a lot of great questions and has felt God's love. She also cooked us a HUGE Taiwanese meal. Sooo yummy!

Yvette just finished reading the Book of Mormon and hasn't decided if she will continue to come to church or not. We challenged her one more time tonight to be baptized. Idk what will happen, but all I know is that the Lord's will will be done. If she's not ready now, that's okay. My kids can teach her one day. A few other amazing people. Doowon is awesome. Ian just headed back for Taiwan, but I'm gonna miss him a lot. He's the man! It's great to teach here. I love it.

Umm all other thoughts..? I think my cousin Nathan said it well, the mission is hard because you give up all you had at home and daily get out of your comfort zone. Despite the difficulties, I love it. God will bless any one of His children when they follow His commandments. So follow them, and see what He has in store for you. I promise it's good. (maybe not Piano-Guys-at-the-Opera-house good, but still good). I'm just kidding, it'll be even better than that.

I love you all heaps! If you're wondering whats up over here, or if you recently got married or something like that and haven't told me, shoot me an email.  Love you all.
